The Lichosyt Research Group at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences (IPC PAS), Warsaw, Poland is inviting applications from motivated researchers for Postdoctoral Researcher and PhD Candidate positions.

The positions offer an opportunity to work in an international research environment on advanced topics in catalysis, organic chemistry, reaction development, and molecular engineering.

Research Area

The selected researchers will contribute to projects related to:

  • Catalytic reaction development
  • Hydrofunctionalization chemistry
  • Selectivity control in chemical transformations
  • Mechanistic investigation of catalytic processes
  • Sustainable approaches in organic synthesis

The current research direction includes designing improved catalytic systems to achieve highly selective chemical reactions with applications in areas such as pharmaceutical and materials synthesis.

Available Positions

1. Postdoctoral Researcher Position

The group is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher for the project:

“Smart Engineering of Catalysts for Hydrofunctionalization Reactions: From Selectivity Control to a Predictive Model”

Candidate profile:

Applicants should have:

  • PhD degree in Chemistry or a closely related field
  • Research experience in:
    • Catalysis
    • Synthetic organic chemistry
    • Reaction mechanism studies
    • Molecular synthesis

The position offers an opportunity to develop independent research expertise while working on advanced catalytic chemistry projects.

2. PhD Candidate Position

The group is also looking for a motivated PhD student interested in pursuing doctoral research in chemistry.

The PhD researcher will receive training in:

  • Organic synthesis
  • Catalytic methodology development
  • Experimental research techniques
  • Scientific writing and communication

This opportunity is suitable for graduates who want to build a career in academic research and chemical sciences.

Funding and Benefits

Selected researchers will receive:

Postdoctoral Researcher:
  • Competitive salary approximately 13,230 PLN gross/month (~3,140 EUR)
  • Research contract up to 24 months
PhD Candidate:
  • PhD scholarship approximately 7,000 PLN/month
